Do Fox Commentators Know “He” Has A Title?

Every morning I wake up listening to Cleveland’s WTAM Radio and the Glenn Beck Radio Show.

Many of my friends ask me why I put myself through the “mental anguish?” My answer is very simple, “I want to learn all I can about what he stands for, says and reportedly passes off as the truth.”

It’s the same way with O’Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh. If I don’t hear what they are saying, I can’t really make a judgement on the issues as they present them. I am not afraid of opposing points of view, for the fact is that the hearing, reading or watching someone who differs from your ideology can spur growth to a new view or strengthen the views you presently hold.

Now, this post is not about ideology but civility and most of all respect.

While in the service I had a base commander who was an “old” style academy officer. His big issue was saluting those of rank. I remember clearly him telling NCOs that even if you didn’t like him, salute, for it was a salute to the uniform and respect to a symbol of our Nation. His favorite line was, “Salute now and give me the ‘bird’ when we’re in civilian clothes.”

The point I’d like to make is simple, do Fox News Commentators know that “He, Him, Obama” has a title, and it is, President?

It would appear that Fox News Commentators, Hannity and Beck especially, drop that part of the discussion as tho it would be demeaning to use the title, but it is the fact, he IS President, The President or President Obama.

If you do not respect the man at least respect the office and the Nation that elected him.

    1. It would be very revealing to access some old episodes of these programs to reveal how they referred to President Bush. We could then judge better if they were truly “fair & balanced.” Rabid partisan politics in a republic polarizes society & paralyzes good government. Those who show due respect honor themselves.
    2. The Supreme Court’s decision on corporate campaign contributions does not give Big Business too much control of the US Government. They have had that control for decades, now they will just have so much better control. Good bye democracy.
    3. (Presented for general information & public benefit.) I have great personal sympathy for Glenn Beck. He, like myself & about 20% or more of Americans, very obviously suffers from Chronic Anxiety disorder which is most often caused by a “medically unrecognized” but very real condition called Pyroluria. It is universally thought to be genetic. According to Safe Harbor & most other websites, 50 to 80% of Alcoholics have Pyroluria, & is often found among people with emotional issues like Phobia, Dyslexia, Bipolar, & Panic.
Mr Beck is a former Alcoholic. So is GW Bush & Pyroluria with Dyslexia explains why he had so much difficulty speaking. Other symptoms are chronic dry skin, grooves & ridges on the fingernails, crowded teeth, avoidance of a heavy breakfast, poor dream recall, nervous habits, inability to turn off mind & relax, often speaks with emotional urgency, hot temper when provoked, frequent irritability, & more.
The good news is that Pyroluria is not really genetic as assumed, but is actually a common multi-resistant infection. It is reversible. If you think you or someone you love may have Pyroluria, research it & also Pyroluria Treatment.

I agree with your blog–the office of the President should be respected. This is the first time I have ever read one of your blogs. Did you write blogs defending the office vs. MSNBC or CNN when George W. Bush was the President?

Also, what do you mean when you describe a base commander as “old style?” Are you saying members currently in the military (enlisted and officers) don’t respect the chain of command?

I could have used “spit and polish” or “by the book” to describe the Commander. It was not any type of comment on the present day command structure.
