AIDS Candlelight Memorial
Sunday May 18th marks the 25th Anniversary of the world’s largest annual community-based AIDS event with the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial. Locally, the Trumbull County Area Aids Task Force has coordinated the event for the past 21 years.
The Mahoning Valley observance of the “Memorial” commences with a reception in the Log Cabin (across from Warren’s Courthouse Square) at 7:30 pm. The vigil begins at 8:30 pm and will be held at the Courthouse Square Park Gazebo.
The Memorial agenda will include, lighting candles, remarks from the Mayor of the City of Warren along with participation in the program from other public officials, area clergy, students from Kent State University, music and songs by local artist.
This is always a moving and emotional night of “remembrance”.
